1. Ha Long Bay

5. Phu Quoc

6. Sapa
A remote mountain town nestled in a spectacular valley, with an intriguing mix of landscapes, ethnic cultures and fresh mountain air. In 1922, the French decided to develop Sapa into a hill station replicating an European Alpine town, giving it one of the most unique architectures in the region. The H’mong and Dao people are the majority here, but the surrounding villages are home to more than 30 other ethnic cultures. 7. Mui Ne
Mui Ne is a lively and popular 12-mile stretch of sand with a wide variety of hotels, resorts and restaurants. This beach is 22 km northeast from Phan Thiet and has two of the best golf courses in Vietnam.
8. Cuu Long Delta
One of the world’s great rivers, the mighty Mekong, empties waters from the Tibetan Plateau feeding through the Mekong Delta. This vast region covers 25,000 square miles, with hundreds of crisscrossing waterways and canals. The delta is the life support for millions people – giving them food, work and a place to live. A trip into the Mekong Delta provides an excellent opportunity to experience traditional Vietnamese rural life: See peasants working in the rice paddies, fisherman and traders living on houseboats, farmers in thatch-roofed dwellings producing tropical fruits, honey (making honey wine).
9. Cu Chi Tunnel
1½ hour drive outside HCMC, the original tunnels were dug to provide cover from the French soldiers. During the 1960s, the “Viet Cong” extended them into an integrated 150-mile network of passages that are five or more levels in places. Though a bit dark and damp, it is fascinating to see the entrances, exits, ventilation pipes, chimneys, and waste channels all so ingeniously camouflaged and guarded by an array of vicious booby traps.
10. Nha Trang
Lies halfway between HCMC and Da Nang, Nha Trang is encircled by an imposing and beautiful landscape. Palm -fringed, white sandy beaches stretch for 4 miles, and almost transparent waters, with rocky islands with coral reefs, offering excellent fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving. This is Viet Nam’s premier resort. Other attractions here include the 1000-year-old Po Nagar Tower built by the Cham, and the National Oceanographic Museum, a research facility housing more than 20,000 specimens.
