Duration: 3 hours
Detail Itinerary
Start at 17:00 at Hanoi’s largest covered market, Dong Xuan. Along the perimeter, hawkers sell
a staggering variety of produce. The guide will give you an insight into the intricacies of Vietnamese food including details on ingredients and the historical background of popular dishes. Try seasonal fruits and sample a tasty French-inspired snack from a street cart. Walk through the bustling streets of the Old Quarter chowing on the famed Hanoi dish Banh Cuon. Wander past stalls and quiet lanes observing local life that has changed little in 1000 years. Sample a barbecue of flame-grilled meat and vegetable specialties. For dessert – fresh fruit smothered with crushed iced and condensed milk. Continue to one of Hanoi’s best kept secrets, a cafe with stunning views over Hoan Kiem Lake for ‘egg coffee’ – or a cold beer. Afterwards explore on your own, or the guide will help you with directions back to your accommodation.
