Day 1: Ha Noi - Mai Chau - Hang Kia village (L)
After breakfast, you will a three-hour scenic drive from Ha Noi to Mai Chau. Along the way, you will see fields of tapioca and sugar cane, as well as rice paddies. Take a typical-traditional lunch in a stilt house of the Thai people, then later on you will drive one hour to Sa Linh Village to begin your trekking. The will be an unforgettable experience with verdant and rugged mountain scenery combined with the colorful clothes of the locals. Walk along gravel tracks and small paths used by local people to your evening destination of Hang Kia Village, home of the H’mong, to enjoy the homestay experience with H’mong family in a traditional longhouse sitting in a picturesque valley of peach orchards.
Day 2: Hang Kia village - Van village (B, L, D)
Today, you will get well off the beaten track as you trek on local tracks through tropical rainforests and cornfields and descend into the Mai Chau Valley. Along the way, you will witness local villagers on daily work like tilling the fields, logging or herding buffalo. The trek usually takes around seven hours and pass many steep places. Lunch will be provided en route. You will pass through several White Thai villages and are sure to attract local’s attention as very few visitors go to this far of the country. You will arrive at Van Village by late afternoon and have time to walk around this little charming village to understand more about the local’s life. The village is home to the Thai people, and tonight you will be their guests in one of their traditional stilt houses. In there, you will be welcomed as honored guests and will have the chance to sample some of their homemade rice wine!
Day 3: Khoe - Ha Noi (B, L)
This morning you will trek for a couple of hours, passing through several more Thai hamlets. You will walk on the valley floor and surrounded by rice paddies and beautiful scenery. At the small village of Khoe, you will meet your waiting vehicle and take a drive back towards Mai Chau. Lunch is again provided in Lac Village and there is also a chance to shop for a souvenir before your returning to Ha Noi.
