After piloting the scheme at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Vietnam has extended its implementation of the Pre-arrival Declaration Form for all foreign travelers entering the country at its five busiest international airports. We hope to bring more clarity to this update so you can provide the most accurate and up-to-date information to your clients.
Is the Pre-arrival Declaration Form a Visa?
The most important thing to note is that this pre-arrival form (sometimes referred to as the ‘pre-arrival digital card’) is not a visa. If your clients are exempted from having a visa, they still need to submit this declaration form prior to or upon arriving in Vietnam. Where it is required
The pre-arrival declaration form is currently required at the following international airports in Vietnam:
- Noi Bai International Airport (HAN)
- Da Nang International Airport (DAD)
- Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR)
- Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN)
- Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC)
Who it applies to
All international tourists and overseas Vietnamese who don’t hold a Vietnamese passport entering the country.
This form is not applicable to transit passengers and Vietnamese citizens.
How to submit the Vietnam Pre-arrival Declaration Form
Your clients can submit their information online via Vietnam’s official pre-arrival declaration portal no more than 3 days prior to their arrival or upon landing in Vietnam.
They can also submit this form when entering the country at the airport by scanning the QR code below or filling out the paper copies.
We recommend submitting this form beforehand to reduce waiting time at the airport immigration area.
