1. Explore the Old Quarter
The Old Quarter is the prime shopping district, located at the center of Ha Noi. The area has many houses with French architect, as Vietnam has been French colonies for decades long ago. This is where you can find souvenirs and experience the Vietnamese’s daily life.
2. Take a walk around Hoan Kiem lake
Hoan Kiem Lake is part of Ha Noi’s Old Quarter. Around the lake there are major city offices and large shopping malls. Here people come to take a walk under large trees on lakeside, have a rest, or take a coffee or ice-cream in shops nearby. On a small island is Ngoc Son Temple, an 18th century Buddhist temple with unique red wooden bridge connecting the island to the shore of the lake.
3. Visit Hanoi’s night market
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, streets in the center of the Old Quarter will be closed to traffic for the night market. At the market you will find cheap but pretty souvenirs. As all bikes are gone, the streets are quieter and pleasant to walk. There are also some different delicious street foods for you to taste.
4. Eat everything
Vietnam and Ha Noi in particular, has many delicious foods that you should try. The most well-known dishes are “bun cha” (BBQ pork and noodles), “bun nem” (noodles and spring rolls), banh mi (Vietnam’s version of a sandwich), and the most favorite – “pho” (beef noodle soup). “pho xao” is the dry version of “pho” which noodles is fried, is another food you should try too.
5. Take a stop at “Bia hoi” corner
For as cheap as half of a dollar, you can take a glass of beer at the intersection of Ta Hien and Luong Ngoc Quyen. Known as Bia Hoi Corner, here you can meet with hundreds of travelers, expats, as well as some locals, gathered for the same interest. This is a great plate to relax and try some traditional street foods.
NEXT STOP: HA LONG BAY
One of the New 7 Wonders of Nature and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, just besides Hoi An, Ha Long Bay is one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Vietnam. This is a collection of over 1600 islands scattered in hundreds km2 of water body, in which many of them have not got any footprint. Day 1: Ha Noi Arrival
Transfer from Noi Bai airport to city central. Check in hotel. Overnight in Ha Noi
Day 2: Ha Noi - Ha Long
In the morning, take halfday citytour visit: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum, One Pillar Pagoda; Temple of Literature. Then tranfer from Ha Noi to Ha Long. Check in and overnight in Vinpearl Ha Long resort.
Day 3: HALONG -HANOI- PHU QUOC (AIR)
Take 4 hours cruising on Ha Long Bay, visit Thien Cung and Dau Go cave. Lunch will served. Transfer back to Noi Bai airport for flight to Phu Quoc. Upon arrival Phu Quoc, transfer by shuttle bus to Vinpearl Phu Quoc resort. Check in and overnight in Vinpearl Phu Quoc& Golf resort.
